Sparked Scholar is an education services provider headquartered in Singapore, with partner centers in the US, Canada, Mainland China, and Hong Kong.

We specialize in high school academic test preparation and overseas studies consulting. Our programs, refined through years of teaching and consulting experience, include:

  • Tutoring for English, Mathematics, and Economics from O Levels / IGCSE through to A Levels / IB / AP

Our instructors are graduates of top global universities who have attained top grades in the subjects they teach, and hail from a range of backgrounds, which helps us cater to local and international students from different education systems.

Our Founder

K.T. Khoo graduated from Stanford University with a dual Bachelor of Arts in Economics and English Literature. While at Stanford, he was a peer writing tutor and academic advisor to undergraduate students, and was the head of Stanford Consulting, which does student-led projects for Silicon Valley tech companies. Prior to Stanford, K.T. attended Raffles Institution in Singapore for high school, where he was twice awarded the Amber Prize as the top English Language student in his year.

K.T. has worked in public health, management consulting, education and tech, including at two Asian “unicorn” companies, Grab and GoGoVan, where he was a business unit lead and software engineer, respectively. Most recently, he recruited for top quantitative finance funds and tech companies in the US.

In the education sector, K.T. has taught academic writing and test preparation for over fifteen years, covering SSAT, ACT, SAT, IELTS, English and Economics. He has advised students from the U.S., U.K., Singapore, Mainland China, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, and Turkey on college admissions. He has also been an admissions essay reader for the National University of Singapore’s undergraduate medicine programme, and a mentor for MIT’s Undergraduate Practice Opportunities Program (UPOP).
